To Ban, or Not to Ban.

  1. Governance.
  2. Transparency.

Two staples we live by within the crypto community.

  1. Satoshi Nakamoto.

The underlying truth keeping us all on the rails is the fact, for the most part, the community has no idea who Satoshi is or was. That underlying truth upholds the anatomy of decentralization and trustlessness.

The Craig Wright fiasco, yes fiasco, is a pivotal inflection point and moment — for us all. It brings together in an interesting way, all of the issues we in the community are trying to solve.

There is a sub-tone of anarchism within crypto. But do not mistake anarchism, which is a philosophy of voluntarism and self governance — with totalitarianism, or even nihilism for that matter.

With self governance comes many learnings. However, we are not starting from scratch when it comes to the way in which we treat people who have made mistakes.

This week we saw a lot of this:

Do we have a problem Binance / CZ (not giving crypto away), ShapeShift.io, and @kraken delisting based on the scenario at hand. No, we do not. However, if we are the community of transparency, trustlessness, decentralization, and governance — then we must have a plan of action when these scenarios take their course.

Similar to the current landscape with Twitter Public Policy and doxing, where they are going above and beyond to clearly explain about the set of rules in place, and then showcasing how those rules have been broken. The crypto community should follow suit and take it further, as we have better tools in place to do so.

@krakenfx took a position at this by letting users decide through a Twitter poll. That however is simply opening up a debate to millions of potential people who have literally no background or information on the scenario. Right idea, wrong execution; however we are applauding them for taking it one step further.

This is simply a reminder, in our community of extremely intelligent people working towards huge goals, we should take this opportunity to come up with a viable solution, or at least a step in the right direction. And above all, in a world that is increasingly divided, let’s outline a fair plan for said individuals to work their way back to level ground, and be included in the community. Let’s be the generation of kindness and forgiveness, if it is earned.

If we cannot work through these problems, and come up with positive solutions that last and solve problems, then we are not the community we say we are, and we are not the people we say we are.
